RESTORED 1-DAY GERMAN CUCKOO CLOCK WITH NEW REGULA MOVEMENT

This beautifully carved German cuckoo clock was nearly discarded after its original movement went missing. The case and carvings were simply too attractive to lose, so I carefully brought the clock back to life by installing a brand-new German-made Regula 35 mechanical movement. The result is a wonderful combination: an authentic vintage wooden case with the dependable operation of a completely new mechanical movement. This clock is ready to begin a new chapter after coming remarkably close to being lost forever.

RESTORATION & CONDITION

This vintage clock arrived without a movement and was at risk of being discarded. I carefully cleaned and restored the wooden case, then fitted it with a brand-new German-made Regula 35 movement. The decorative carved topper had previously been broken and required repair. It has been carefully reassembled and securely repaired. The repair blends in well when the clock is displayed, although evidence of the repair may be visible upon close inspection. The new movement includes new chains and provides this vintage clock with a dependable mechanical heart while preserving the character and craftsmanship of its original carved case. The carvings display beautifully, especially the large flying bird at the top and the layered floral and leaf details surrounding the clock. As with any genuine vintage piece, minor signs of age may be present. Please examine all photographs carefully, as they are an important part of the description. The clock has been adjusted, tested, and is operating properly before shipment.

OPERATION

This is a traditional one-day mechanical cuckoo clock. The weights are raised by gently pulling down on the opposite ends of the chains approximately once each day. At the half hour, the cuckoo emerges and calls once. At the top of each hour, it calls the corresponding number of times.

MEASUREMENTS This clock measures approximately 15-1/2” from the bottom of the center leaf to the top of the bird’s wing. It measures approximately 12” side to side across the roof topper and is approximately 7” deep. Measurements do not include the hanging weights, chains, or pendulum.

SHIPPING

The clock will be carefully prepared and securely packed for shipping. The weights and pendulum will be removed and individually wrapped to protect the clock during transit. Basic setup instructions will be included. I am also available to answer questions and help with setup after delivery. Please note that mechanical cuckoo clocks must hang level on the wall to operate correctly.
