Cuckoo Restorations provides careful repair and restoration of traditional mechanical cuckoo clocks. Clocks may be shipped to my workshop in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, from anywhere in the United States.
Repair Services
Depending on your clock’s needs, service may include:
- Movement cleaning, adjustment and lubrication
- Cuckoo call adjustment
- Bellows repair or replacement
- Bushing and worn-part repair
- Hand, chain and pendulum repairs
- Music-box troubleshooting
- Case cleaning and minor wood repairs
- Complete mechanical testing before return
Pricing
A standard cuckoo clock service is generally $250 and includes cleaning the case and movement, adjusting the cuckoo mechanism, lubricating the movement and testing the clock.
Replacement bellows, bushings, hands, damaged parts, extensive case repairs and other additional work are quoted separately. I will review your clock and discuss any additional charges before completing repairs beyond the standard service.
Shipping costs are additional.
How the Process Works
- Contact me before shipping your clock.
- Include several clear photographs of the clock, its movement and any damaged areas.
- Describe what the clock is—or is not—doing. A short video can be very helpful.
- I will review the information and let you know whether the clock appears to be a good candidate for repair.
- Once the clock arrives, I will inspect it and confirm the recommended work.
- After the repair is complete, the clock will be thoroughly tested before being carefully packed and returned.

- Your name and location
- The clock’s approximate age or manufacturer, if known
- A description of the problem
- Whether the clock has music
- Whether it is a 1-day or 8-day clock, if known
- Photographs or a link to a short video
Please do not ship a clock until we have discussed the repair and shipping instructions.
Every vintage cuckoo clock is different. My goal is to preserve as much of the original clock as practical while returning it to dependable operation.
